LIBRARY SERVICES

Brings books to young learners and their families. Programs are designed to teach literacy skills, inspire critical thinking, and foster a joy of reading and lifelong learning.

Provides children and youth with critical, individualized educational support needed to successfully engage in their learning, complete school, and prepare for higher education.

FunLimón was established in 2008 by the Mark and Kathryn Ford Family Foundation as a non-profit based in El Limón #1, Nicaragua. Through youth and adult education, fitness and sports programs, and local outreach initiatives, they strive to support life-long learning, community engagement, and healthy lifestyles.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of adolescents as they strive to reach their goals while creating positive change in their communities.

FunLimón’s primary purpose is to drive community development by offering quality, affordable educational and vocational training to youths and adults.


Funlimon strives to support life-long learning, community engagement, and healthy lifestyles through youth and adult education, fitness and sports programs, and local outreach initiatives.

  • Over 1,300 students graduated from Vocational Education programs and gained skills needed to obtain higher-paying jobs.

  • Funded over 250 annual University Scholarships to date, producing a new generation of engineers, teachers, nurses, and other professionals.

  • Over 1,100 children to date participating in English, Computer, and Martial Arts programs.

  • Over 300 adults have graduated from literacy and adult education programs.

YOUTH PROGRAM

The Youth Education Program offers twice-weekly English language, computer courses, and taekwondo. This program creates a path for the more advanced INATEC courses.

INATEC

The INATEC Programs are part of a government program certifying technical and educational courses, supporting graduates with their job application process.

Community development offering quality, affordable vocational training to youths and adults, along with opportunities to participate in organized athletic and recreational activities. 


OPEN COURSE

The vocational courses help locals gain knowledge and skills in careers that are stable and in high demand through a hands-on learning/teaching hands-on model.

UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

The University Scholarship Program provides a stipend to help cover the cost of school fees, materials, and transportation.

SPORTS TEAMS & FITNESS CENTER

They have a variety of team sports programs for girls and boys of all ages! Sports include Taekwondo, Basketball, Women’s Soccer, Men’s Soccer, and Men’s Baseball.
